Loox' verhaal / Loox' story

Loox is de 3e Border Collie die bij ons in Millen is komen wonen.

Nadat we ons allereerste nestje met Dezz hadden gehad in september '11, waren we er volledig van overtuigd dat we in de toekomst nogmaals een nestje van haar wilden. Het leek ons geweldig om opnieuw een keer pupjes te kunnen hebben van ons Dezz, maar dan ook eventueel van onze eigen reu. In eerste instantie was Arno er niet echt voorstander van, toch ben ik op zoek gegaan naar uitmuntende combinaties van ouderlijnen. Toen begin '12 werd bekend gemaakt dat Luna pupjes ging krijgen van Solo was ik meteen verkocht, ik hoefde niet verder te zoeken. 2 super show hondjes, mooie bloedlijnen, goede karakters, ... meer moest het niet zijn. Bij het zien van de foto's van het prachtige koppel heeft het niet lang geduurd vooraleer Arno overtuigd was. Toen Siri ons bevestigde dat we nog op de wachtlijst konden staan waren we erg blij.

Zondagnacht, 10/06 kregen we het verlossende telefoontje: 4 zwarte jongens en 1 rode vent waren geboren! Na ons eerste bezoek was ik helemaal verliefd op alle 5 de knullen. Na veel observaties en gesprekken met de fokkers van Loox werd ons 'Creamy' toebedeeld.  Van 'Creamy' is er echter weinig overgebleven, Loox heeft een prachtige gouden vachtkleur, vandaar dat we altijd spreken over ons "rode prins".   

Tot op de  leeftijd van 5 jaar heeft Loox altijd bij ons gewoond.  We hebben samen een mooi parcours afgelegd  op het gehoorzaamheidsveld.  Zowel de puppyklas als de A- en B-klas had Loox al achter zich liggen toen hij nog maar 9 maanden was.  Op 14 maanden behaalde Loox zijn brevet gehoorzaamheid, waarna hij gedurende 1 jaar wedstrijden speelde bij de debutanten.  Precies een jaar nadat hij zijn brevet heeft behaald moest hij al overstappen naar gehoorzaamheidsprogramma 1.  Wegens omstandigheden is Joel Philippens, een vriend des huizes, vanaf februari 2015 verder gegaan met hem met trainen en wedstrijden spelen.  Ook zij vormden zeer snel een    top duo.  Ze hebben slechts 1 jaar in programma 1 gespeeld waarna ze de overgang maakten  naar het laatste en moeilijkste programma in de gehoorzaamheid, Programma 2. 

Onze prins is steeds bij ons blijven wonen.  We  merkten op een gegeven moment dat Loox echt helemaal gek was van Joel en de resultaten op vlak van wedstrijden beter waren wanneer Loox eens een weekend of halve week bij Joel had gelogeerd. In oktober 2017 hebben we de definitieve, harde beslissing genomen om Loox permanent bij Joel te laten wonen.   

Loox is een echte workaholic,  als hij buiten is doet hij niets liever dan zijn apportjes te voorschijn halen.  Eenmaal binnen kan hij genieten van de rust, meestal ligt hij op de grond met zijn rug tegen de zetel.   We zijn heel trots dat we Loox in onze kennel mochten verwelkomen.   Hij is een schat van een reu, heeft respect voor de  oudere dames en leert de kleinsten wat wel en niet mag.  Kort gezegd, een droom om in huis te hebben.

After we had our first litter from Dezz in September '11, we were fully convinced that we wanted a litter from her again in the future. To have a litter from our Dezz together with our own male was now a dream.  Initially Arno was not really in favor of this idea, yet I went looking for outstanding combinations of parentlines. Early 2012 the kennel ‘Aest Eloriel’ announced that Luna was planned to have puppies with Solo.  I was immediately in love, I did not look further. 2 super show dogs, nice bloodlines, good characters, ... it didn’t want more.  When I showed the pictures of the lovely couple to Arno, it didn’t take long before Arno was convinced. When Siri confirmed to us that we were on the waiting list, we were very happy.

Sunday night the 10th of June 2012, we recieved a phonecall with the good news : 4 black-white and one red male were born! After my first visit, I was totally in love with all 5 guys.   At 5 weeks, after many observations and conversations with Loox' breeders we got the confirmation that 'Creamy' would be ours.  There is not much left of 'Creamy'.  Loox has a fantastic golden coatcolour, that is why we call him our "red prince".   

Untill the age of 5 Loox Always lived with us    Especially in obedience we  achieved some great results.  When Loox was only 9 months old he already passed the puppy class, the A and B-class.  At 14 months Loox received his certificate to play in obedience competitions after this we played with the debutants.  Exactly a year after he obtained his license, we had to go to obedience program 1.   Due to circumstances Joel Philippens, a good friend, started to train with Loox and play competitions with him.  They were also a super team.  They only played1 year in Program 1, after that they had to go to the most difficult and last programm of the obedience, Programm 2. 

Our prince always lived with us untill that time.  On a certain moment we noticed Loox was absolutly fond of Joel and the results at obedience competitions were better when Loox had been with Joel for a few days in a row.  In october 2017 we took the definite and hard decision to let Loox stay at Joels place permanently. 

Loox is a real workaholic, especially when he is outside, he loves nothing more than bringing his toys.  Once inside, he can enjoy the peace, he usually is on the floorground with his back against the couch.   We are very proud that we were able to welcome Loox in our kennel.  He is a very gentle dog, loves to cuddle, has respect for his older ladies and teaches the younger ones what is and is not allowed. In short, a dream to have.
